The island of Corfu lies near the coast of Albania. The island is about 60km in length and the width at the widest part is about 30km. Most of the Greek Islands are located in the Aegean sea, while Corfu is in the Ionian sea.
Corfu is known ad the 'emerald' or 'green' isle due to the lush vegetation in relation to mainland Greece. Startling blue seas and golden sand stretch the length of its east and west coasts. Many of the beaches on the west coast also offer watersports and ideal conditions for windsurfing.
There’s also plenty to see away from the beach, especially in Corfu Town. There are plenty of places to shop in Corfu town or if you prefer a more cultural experience there are many museums to visit.
